Baroque + Vatican tour

We offer you a private customized visit of the most spectacular monuments and sights of the Baroque Rome and Vatican city.

A stroll to enjoy the city, through its palaces, piazzas and fountains, a private tour to dream, exploring history and art. Join us on a journey to encounter popes and emperors, artists and ordinary people in the places where their lives took shape, where the ancient and the modern mingled to create the political and religious institutions on which Italian society still rests today.

From Piazza del Popolo one of the largest squares of Rome, famous for the Egyptian obelisque and the twin churches dedicated to Maria, continue towards via del Babuino and reach the Spanish Steps and Trinità dei Monti on top of them. See Bernini’s boat shaped famous fountain in the middle of the square and walk to your next stop, The Trevi fountain. Considered one of the most beautiful fountain in  the world just restorated and brought  back to its glorious original splendor.

Keep walking to reach the Pantheon, the oldest building of the city dating back to the 1st century B.C.

Our last stop is Piazza Navona the best expression of the Baroque style in Rome, always busy with it’s restaurants, cafes, gelato shops, painters, street artists and musicians.

Bernini’s marvelous Fountain of the Four Rivers is the piazza’s centrepiece, while dominating the skyline above there is Borromini’s curving facade and bell tower of the church of Santa Agnese.

We finish our private morning tour with two extremely different piazzas, Campo dei Fiori with its taverns and market stalls, a stop along the route pilgrims took on their way to St. Peter’s and once a site of public execution and torture; by contrast, Piazza Farnese is an aristocratic place of cardinals and popes, overlooked by Palazzo Farnese, sombre testament to Michelangelo’s architectural talent

Lunch time: Relax and enjoy a typical Roman meal.

The Vatican Museums can be overwhelming, with nine miles of art, sculpture, tapestries, maps and relics contained within, not to mention Michelangelo’s frescos in the Sistine Chapel. We’ve chosen the best for your three-hour visit, giving you a broad view of the collection as well as its most famous works.

Walk through the Gallery of the Maps and Gallery of Tapestries. Gaze at artifacts such as timeworn yet fascinating Italian maps and admire the sculptures and candelabras of the Gallery of Candelabras. Stop for photos in front of the Pigna statue in the Pinecone Courtyard.

Pass through Raphael’s Rooms, a series of galleries that highlight the talent of the artist himself and step inside the Sistine Chapel.

Stand beneath Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam and admire The Last Judgement, his colourful mural that adorns a wall, continue to St Peter’s Basilica, the symbolic heart of the Catholic church. Learn about its history and see more Vatican art including Michelangelo’s La Pietà and Bernini’s Baldacchino.
