Cortona and Assisi day tour from Florence

  • DRIVING TOUR FROM FLORENCE – 10 HRS

We offer you a private customized tour of the most spectacular monuments and sights of Cortona and Assisi with our comfortable and air conditioned Sedan/Van departing from Florence. You will have a fluent English speaking driver, very knowledgeable who will guide you through the discovery of these two incredible medieval cities, reaching the main streets and squares, hopping on and off the car as much as you want.

Driving through the comfortable “Autostrada del Sole” (highway of the Sun) we will reach the charming town of Cortona located in the extreme south of Tuscany. Perched on a mountain, 600 metres above the sea level, Cortona belonged to the “Dodecapolis” (12 main cities) at the time of the Etruscans and still today we have great evidence of this incredible civilization thanks to the necropolis,  the city walls and  the best Etruscan Academy of the area. The town is today known all over the world because it was the setting of the Book and Movie UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN.

We will reach the highest part of the town and visit the Sancutary of St. Margaret, most important church of the town, then continue to the historical centre and stroll through the lovely Via Nazionale, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Signorelli and enjoy the shopping area or visit the Etruscan Academy.
