Florence day tour from Rome


We will depart from Rome on our comfortable and air conditioned Sedan/Van with a fluent English speaking driver who will assist you along the day and coordinate the meeting with your local guide in Florence.

From Rome, Florence is around 3 hours by car. But don’t be alarmed for it will be a truly relaxing and comfortable ride. This is the ideal trip for someone who would like to give themselves a memorable experience to one of the most beautiful and artistic cities in Italy. Making good use of the precious time you have available in our wonderful country.

Once you arrive in Florence, your first stop will be Il Piazzale Michelangelo or Michelangelo’s Square, on top of the hill that overlooks Florence and river Arno, to enjoy the stupendous view of the city. The time to take some pictures and back on board  to reach  Florence city.

It is almost time for lunch, you can take your time and have something quick or ask us if you need suggestions.

After lunch meet your local guide (recommended) and start your walking tour of Florence treasures.

Your professional guide will take you through the highlights of the city & the Accademia museum on foot.

You will enter the Cathedral of Florence and see its great dome that is one of the Renaissance masterpieces built in 1406 by architect Brunelleschi. Next to it you will see the tall Belltower and the Baptistry with its famous bronze doors designed by Ghiberti.

Our local expert guide will take you next to the market of San Lorenzo and Via dei Calzaiuoli, the city’s most popular shopping areas for leather and artisanal products. Do not forget that Florence is home of famous fashion makers like Ferragamo and Gucci.

Then, you will reach Piazza della Signoria that is the location of the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence’s town hall. This is a beautifully painted and surrounded by XVI century statues.
We will cross Piazza della Repubblica, the Ancient Roman city center and arrive on Ponte Vecchio, one of the oldest and most charming bridges of Europe and see the Arno River.
During this half day tour we will also visit the Church of Santa Croce that is burial place of Michelangelo and Galileo.
The Academy contains masterpieces of painting and sculpture from middleage to Renaissance especially the world-wide famous statue of David by Michelangelo.

The Uffizi Museum is considered one of the top 5 museums in the world because it houses many great works of art such as Botticelli’s Venus and PrimaveraCaravaggio’s BacchusLeonardo’ Annunciation, and Magi’s Adoration and much much more!

Florence is truly a museum without walls so in case your tour lands on a Monday, we will be happy to use the extra time fully visiting other city sites.

*Time will not be sufficient to tour inside of the Uffizi Gallery unless you only visit that particular museum with the guide and not the city sites or Accademia. Please let us know if your primary intention is to see the Uffizi.


Please note that the museums are closed on Mondays and the Duomo is closed for the early part of the day on Sunday.

Entrance: Accademia (+16,50eur per person to be paid at entrance. The rate includes 4eur reservation fee non-refundable even if you do not enter the Accademia.

Skip the line: you will skip the general admission lines with the reservation, but you will still need to go through security upon entry.
